Genre: New Adult Romance, Sexy romance
Length: 190 pages
A no-strings fling is what she wants…but is that
what she needs?
At 22, Gail’s losing
her mom to cancer…with only a week to live. Every second of every minute, Gail
hopes the doctors are wrong. Then she loses the bracelet her mother gave her.
On the edge, she jumps into the pool to find it. Something grabs her waist and
flips her over in the water. It’s Scott, the neighbors’ gardener, trying to
save her.
The sight of Scott’s
wet t-shirt plastered against the rippling muscles of his shoulders and chest
gets Gail fantasizing about this Adonis. It’s easier to get lost in a fantasy
of raw passion than hope for anything at all.
With more regrets than
he can ever hope to live with…Scott’s trying to get his life together. The last
thing he needs is a crazy rich girl who keeps throwing herself at
him. But he knows something’s wrong from the sad, lost look in her
beautiful eyes.
Is this relationship
finished before it ever truly begins? Or in their darkest moment… can Gail and
Scott give each other hope?

Happy endings happen all the time,
they just don't always last.
Gail and Scott have managed to come
out of their whirlwind romance relatively unscathed. But the real challenge
might well prove to be the day to day one. Can they truly build something
lasting on a foundation of lies, break ups and worse? Can they have a happy
ending for real?

****4 Stars****
Not looking for love-Lena Bourne episode 1
Warning this book contains death, a dark romance and so much more that you will be grabbing a tissue one minute, have your mouth hanging open the next and then asking wtf why are you doing this to yourself?!! Gail and Scott have a very twisted relationship while she is struggling with the on-coming death of her mother. There is some suspense going on with her BFF (Kate) and Scott’s brother that leaves you wanting answers as well. The last sentence in this episode will leave you wanting to grab episode 2 to find out what happens.
Not looking for love-Lena Bourne episode 2
The story continues for Gail and Scott in this episode. Wow!! Is my response when you pick up this story from where it left off. Totally did not expect Gail to do what she did (don’t want to comment with a spoiler here). Kinda pissed that she did this without consulting Scott first. Gail is lucky Scott took her back and can handle her crazy self; however, karma gets her in the end of this episode so now you must continue onto episode 3 to find out why Scott does what he does. Episode 3 here we come!!
Not looking for love-Lena Bourne episode 3
Just when we finally start to see somewhat of a normal twisted relationship between Gail and Scott start to go where it should (as normal as these two can get), here come more twists. Always had my suspicion on the cars (all I will say as not to spoil anything) and what is going on with his family. It’s about time that those three little words came out between the two of them. Still would like to know more about Kate and Mike (Mark as she knew him) relationship though. Here we go again with one of them walking away from each other at the end of this episode. Onto episode 4 to find out where this goes from here with these new turn of events.
Not looking for love-Lena Bourne episode 4
Again Wow!! Reading these episodes you start thinking finally they have some place and things are going well for them as a couple then BAM more twists to the story.
Gail is one determined person, strong and a good detective. Amazing how she found Hank Henderson/Martin Winters AKA Scott. Scott is tortured by what his brother did but at least her dad comes around in regards to their relationship. His brother and Kate (her BFF) better not ever get together again. Is she nuts?? Onto episode 5 hoping they don’t have any more heartaches.
Not looking for love-Lena Bourne episode 5
This pattern of on again/off again is driving me insane. Gail and Scott need to get their crap (nicely wording, but I mean the other word) together!! It is best said in this episode- “Love will mess you up worse than death does. Every time.” I don’t know what pisses me off more, their relationship or his family. I would go with being disowned than ever making amends with my brother who tries to almost succeed at raping my girlfriend. His brother, Mike is one crazy psycho and I swear he needs to leave Gail alone and not torture her and her dad. Gail/Scott need their happiness after all this torture they have been through including the torture Scott had prior to Gail.
As Gail says at the end of this episode: “Our love is impossible that the entire universe conspired against it. Rape, abortion, kidnapping. Who goes through all that and continues to hope for a happy ending?” Well obliviously Gail and Scott (even though he walks away again in his attempt to protect her). Grabbing episode 6 by the horns as I’m ready to find evidence myself to keep Mike locked up.
Not looking for love-Lena Bourne episode 6
This episode focused on Mike and how completely mental this man is. He threatens Scott that he will kill Gail and her dad if he doesn’t break up with her and forces him to work for him and Vlado even though he (Scott) wants out. This episode covers almost five months of Gail/Scott torturing themselves being broken up (Warning!!-Spoiler alert in this review). They are both so stubborn and I get that he was protecting her, but I believe that if Gail did not yet again take this step at almost the fifth month of not being together that he would still let Mike be controlling his life and away from Gail.
Gail was finally able to realize that “He didn’t cheat on me. He didn’t leave me because he didn’t love me. He left to protect me.” Her roommate pointed out this to her as well. Kate (her BFF) knows things that she should have told Gail about instead of having Gail looked like a psycho in front of everyone when she finds out what Scott has been trying to hide to protect her. This whole episode was about Scott trying to do what he felt right by trying to protect Gail, but he was destroying them both in the process. If you’re looking for a happy ending in this episode if you are thinking this is what will happen, you’re WRONG. Read onto episode 7 to find out what happens!
Not looking for love-Lena Bourne episode 7
Speechless on how this ended!!! Feel like there should have been more to end this story. Yes, they get their HEA; however, there are pieces of the story that leave you wanting to know more on what happens and why. Hoping more episodes will be coming to bring closure to this storyline. Novella or short story maybe would bring closure to this.
Although they tortured themselves throughout these 7 episodes, their love is strong and after all the heartache they have gone through its amazing that they made it to their HEA. Again Lena throws twists into the story and this completely keeps you wanting more and your mouth hanging open!! Their relationship may have gone through hell, but there SEX was off the charts and you could feel their love for each other.
The song that fits for these episodes is “Need you know” by Lady Antebellum because they weren’t whole until they were together and holding each other together. These episodes would make an awesome movie (whether big screen or Lifetime) or as a T.V. show. There are so many topics covered: drama, love, crime, rape, abortion, death and family issues that it keeps you entertained and wanting more. Warning not for the faint of hearts who don’t like dealing with these types of topics!! Would definitely recommend these episodes to others.
